Yay you're the PS person too! *hi-fives* I like your new BA/Face icon a lot! The cropping is really great. Mmm, to me it looks it got 'washed out' in the lightening up process I guess? It's often told in graphic tutorials that in older version of PS (like 7.0, CS, CS2, etc), using Brightness and Contrast too much tends to make pic quality poor in the process. Using Curves or Levels instead might lessen the effect and keep the quality great.

How do you like your icons? You don't want colourful icons, but do you want to make your icons a little bit more brighter? If so, I think it's not difficult at all. Just a couple of tweaking, nothing complicated. :)

It's all about your preference, so it's nothing wrong if you like darker, less colour icons... some people like dark icons because they think if icons are too bright they can't see the details original pics had. I'm all for colour, you know. ;) I don't like my colouring very much though.

What do you mean by 'too blurry images'? Is it because the original pic is already blurry? Or original pic is very clear and in great quality but it gets blurry in icon making process? If it's latter, I think it can be avoided.

I use two PCs as well! A dying, very old one with bigger but low resolution screen, and a newer but already years old one with much smaller but higher resolution screen. So neither is satisfying for graphic making. :/ Checking icons on both screen helps me see the flaws, at least...
