The Soloist (no review just my thoughts)
Actually I started to watch the movie because I needed to imagine Robert (Holmes) with really short hair - which I couldn't. cut for spoilers
The movie is very moving, VERY well done and both Robert and Jamie Foxx play EXCELLENT!!!! It's not a movie I'd watch over and over, it has way too much to do with the cruel reality for my taste, but I reccomend it to every RDJ fan. If you got to know him as Holmes, be aware of the short hair. I got used to it and it so belongs to Steve Lopez. So does the beard...awww I suck at reviews.
I felt so sorry for him in the very beginning. The accident with the bike must have hurt and he looked terrible, but nobody of his collueges really seemed to care. Nore did his ex.
He met Nathaniel by accident and because he needed a job, a special article. I think the musician made him curious. The fact, that he played Beethoven all the time made the movie watchable even more for me, since I do love that music.
For me, even though Nathaniel says at on point, that Lopez is his God and that he loves him, there is no slash at all in there. As I said, it's too much about reality. There is one scene where Steve is so desperate that he cries...and Robert really does and I did too. *sniff*
No one dies in the movie and it ends positive. So the more reason to watch it and maybe I can give more coherent info when I have thought about it a while longer lol
