Sharlto you ROCK! okay...this was a different piece of art...cut for spoilers I started to watch it in German but switched to English because I wanted to hear Sharlto speak. And I started to watch with a frown. Everything not so much to my liking. Those very ugly aliens, the throwing up all the time, etc. BUT I would REALLY recomment it for scifi fans now after watching the whole thing. I thought it was totally thrilling and I did expect him to turn out really bad at one point but was glad he wasn't...I think the right words fail me at the moment.
I LOVED the way he says "fuck" all the time lol and I see parts of it somewhat detatched from this movie. I see Murdock who's badly badly tortured!!!! That's where we get to know why he became insane. oops that was just off topic.
What I meant to say is, that Sharlto definately should ACT MORE! That was a totally perfect performance with all the technical enhancements and stuff! I kinda liked how the plot turned out in the end and that there was still hope for him...yeah, I know, odd review but well, kinda overwhelmed here right now. There will be a wall for this asap!

YES! Exactly! I was totally surprised that it became so thrilling!!! Why did you watch it in the first place? Because Peter Jachson was the producer?

I watched it cause I thought it looked interesting. It has aliens, but isn't your typical alien movie...more of a social commentary with aliens. And Sharlto has an interesting look about him that made him interesting too :)

hehe he certainly has! But I wouldn't have watched it if I wouldn't like his Murdock so much! I just NEEDED some more footage with him to finish my story! So glad we see him without a shirt on ;)

I love District 9. I fell in love with Sharlto there, and can still remember seeing this movie at the midnight showing when it came out. It's hard to watch sometimes, but oh man, I do love it. <3

Oh you saw it in the theatre? All those ugly aliens? I think I wouldn't have had that nerve! I didn't like Wicus (sp?) at first but then I liked him more and more and felt so sorry for him!!!!! And I was praying that they wouldn't kill him off! I can live with this ending, even though it was so sad with the flower...

I'll watch it again to make more caps of that asskicking Sharlto/Murdock ;) And, as whith all my favourite actors, I LOVE the way he speaks!!!

I love sci-fi, so it definitely appeals to me. xD I'm also a sucker for odd endings or bittersweet ones, so the ending on it was pretty much right up my alley as well. It was so touching, and it lets you fill in what you want to happen! And of course Wicus was kind of a jerk, but the whole idea of him changing and seeing for himself what it's like is so powerful. It was just awesome. <3

And Sharlto's actual accent is magical. I want to marry it.

Wicus was...how he explained about the alien "babies" were like pop corn? That was so ...gggrrrrr I hated him there, even though that chamber seemed so stinky and repulsing...He did look at bit like Hitler at the beginning...I think that was on purpose!

But yeah, the way he changed and then fought for them, it was awesome!!! Seemed like he suddenly understood what they were saying only we didn't.

I think at one point the aliens came back and saved all their "brothers" ...or just took over earth...

Well, I think you have to watch for yourself and see if you think its a good movie. I am convinced a lot of people might not like it. I always prefer to find my own opinion. I was very hesistant to buy this one. I waited until I just NEEDED more Sharlto ;) I am glad it didn't dissappoint me. But I'm sure other people may see that differently.

Scifi fans are relaly hard to please.
My family and I watched that dumb movie Battle for Las Angeles. And it was far too war like for a scifi flick, so Mom and I opted out.

so, yeah, I totally get what you're saying.

I loved the movie! I've actually watched it about 19 times. My mom actually groans now when I say 'look what's showing on Starz!
I read some stuff online about the movie, but waited until my niece's boyfriend let me borrow his DVD'. I loved it from the beginning! I have a soft spot for nerdy fellas. Then, I watched Sharlto in the A-Team...one of my favorite 80's series...I've loved the man ever since.

I think Sharlto brought Murdock onto the big screen VERY beautifully! I am watching the series again now. (Watched it years ago and liked it, didn't know anything about slash back then!) The more I watch it the more I really LOVE Murdock! So now I think I love Sharlto's and Dwight's Murdock(s) equally.

I really really hope Sharlto will get in front of the camera again and play some kick ass guys (preferably AN A_TEAM SEQUEL!!)

19 times for D9? WOWOWOW you must know it by heart now ;)

Oh, I ADORE District 9. It's tied with Moon for my favorite sci-fi movie of 2009. It was just amazingly well done and Sharlto was brilliant in it.

Oh WOW! I'm glad it gets so many good opinions!!! I think it wasn't even shown in my theatre, but I wasn't into Sharlto back then so I probably didn't pay attention. Really glad a lot of people think it was good. I was searching for that old thread in the kink meme, but didn't find it anymore. Do you happen to still find it?
