I just watched Liam Neeson in "K19"

Lets just say it's as scary and moving as "Schindler's list". I may not have watched it if I had known what it is about. I am not sure if I'll watch it again. Maybe til the part where the damn reactor is leaking. Seeing Daniel Jackson suffer from Radiation Posioning back in Stargate already haunted my thoughts, but this, real men, dyign like that? ARG!!! I am again starting to pray that all those reactors that are near us stay save...

Harrison Ford and Liam very both brilliant! (I wondered if they'd build the set after Liam's hight though ;) I don't think he'd have fit in a real sub. There was a scene with the missle, where he's working only in his undershirt...hhhmmm YUMMY that! Unfortunately I couldn't capture it cuz he moved too much.

So, I'm still a bit shocked of the intensity of the movie. And even though they were all men there, I can not slash them since it's about such a scary historical incident. * gasp *

You know, the real nickname of this submarine was not Widowmaker, but Hiroshima, because all kinds of disasters happened to it from the first day of it service to the last one: nuclear leak, fires, collisions with other submarines. In 1972, in time of the one of the fires, one of the ships, rescuing the Hiroshima was Tobol, the ship my Dad served on at the time.

So, the story of Hiroshima and all it history was one of the stories of my childhood.

Oh ...oh ouch. That must be hard, a dad in the military at times of cold war. Thanks so much for the info about the submarines!!

When the movie arrived to the cinemas around there I invited Dad to go with me. Dad: "I already seen this cursed tin once in my life and if I'll never ever will see it again it's still will be too soon." So I went alone.

For several reasons, I've not seen this movie. Now that you've told us your thoughts on it, I'll continue to skip it! :)
