Title: Confusion - Chapter 1
Author: Delorita
Fandom: Iron Man / Batman
Pairing: Tony/Bruce/Jim
Genre: slash, romance
Rating: PG 13 (for now)
Word Count: 1220
Disclaimer: They aren't mine! I'm just playing with them and don't make any money out of it.
Summary: Batman is shocked by the news who Iron Man truly is and intends to find out if that's the truth.
Notes: This crossover starts right after "Iron Man" (1) ends. Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon are borrowed from Nolan verse (Bale/Oldman), maybe a year after "The dark Knight". They are in a slash, established relationship for me. I will try and make them both fall for Mr. Tony Stark, ending up in a threesome. I also admit that I have a thing for Jarvis and the way "he" and Tony talk together.
My thanks go to
ladylovelace again for the fast betajob. You rock, Lady :D

"I am Iron Man." Tony Stark stated.
"What?" Bruce Wayne rose abruptly from his resting position on Jim Gordon's thigh and stared at the broad TV screen in his newly build living room.
Jim raised the volume, but with that major statement the news was over.
"Mister 'I have the biggest and most advanced weapons' is Iron Man?" Bruce thought this was the most ridiculous thing he'd heard in a very long time. "I don't think so." He slumped back down on his back, looking up into his lover's face.
Gordon frowned deeply, took off his glasses and pinched his nose in concentration, thinking.
Bruce's frustration was clearly written on his face, when he murmured, "And here Batman was about to beg the new Superhero for a little favour..."
Gordon shifted, about to ask what problem brought that on, since Gotham had been relatively quiet for a few days, when Lucius Fox entered the room, Alfred close on his heels.
The couple on the sofa didn't bother to change positions. The awkwardness of telling the two employees and friends, what their true relationship was, lay a long time behind them and they felt perfectly safe in their little family.
Bruce turned his head towards Lucius just when Alfred asked, "Did you just watch the news, Master Bruce?"
"Yeah, that's why I'm glad Lucius is here." He finally sat up, stroking his hair out of his face.
"You want me to look into the Stark affair, Master Wayne?" Lucius' eyes gleamed with interest already.
"Yes, please. I just don't believe this." Bruce stood and changed the channels, trying to find more about the man with the new super powers. "And make it quick."
"Yes, Master Wayne, already on it." Lucius put on his jacket and was out of the door.
"Will that be all for tonight, Master Bruce, Master Gordon?" Alfred bowed slightly and Gordon rolled his eyes. He couldn't convince Alfred to call him just Jim.
"Yes, thank you Alfred, that's all."
"Very well, good night then." Alfred closed the door without a sound.
"You know," Gordon reached for Bruce's arm and pulled him back beside him on the broad couch, "I do believe it's possible..." He trailed off, stroking his fingers through Bruce's thick, dark hair.
They were silent for a few minutes. Bruce not wanting to be true what was already nagging at the back of his mind.
"You think Stark just happens to have the same crazy idea as I do?"
"Well, he'd been held prisoner in Afghanistan for several months, who knows what happened to him there." Jim locked gazes with the alter ego of Batman.
"He's a snob."
"And so are you," Jim bend down and kissed his lover briefly. "For people that don't really know you."
"Fuck."
Jim chuckled lowly, "That would be a good distraction for now."
Bruce moved fast, banning the disturbing thoughts for the time being, and had his favourite cop pinned to the couch in an instant, "As you wish."

"Sir, I am inclined to inform you, that someone is trying to breach my security systems." Jarvis' low voice interrupted Tony's light slumber. He had fallen asleep with his head on the work bench, and jumped up, disoriented.
"Jarvis, what?" He rubbed his eyes tiredly.
"Someone is attempting a security breach."
"Jarvis, don't someone me, you exactly know who that is." The billionaire yawned, "Tell me, because I'm too tired for games right now."
"Wayne Enterprises." After a short pause the computer continued, "Lucius Fox, to be precise."
A wide grin came up on the new super hero's face.
"So my statement reached Gotham already." He murmured under his breath.
"Not a very wise statement, Sir." Jarvis quipped in.
"Shut up." Tony ordered and the computer fell silent.
After splashing some water on his face in the kitchen corner, to get more awake, Tony muttered, "I'm sorry, Jarvis." He pulled his t-shirt over his head and tossed it aside.
"Suit, please."
++++++
Bruce just couldn't sleep. Something about Tony Stark telling everybody in the world that he was the new superhero, disturbed the Bat deeply. Maybe it was the fact that the other billionaire may have had just the same idea, or maybe it was some kind of jealousy, he just didn't know.
He sat in the Bat cave, observing his monitors, already wearing cowl and suit, when Lucius contacted him. "I am sorry to inform you, Master Wayne, but I can not break into Mister Stark's security system. He really does have the most advanced technology. "
"Fuck." The Bat muttered, thinking for a moment. Then pulling of his gloves and his cowl, "Please get my plane ready for Malibu immediately."
"Yes, Sir." Lucius logged off.
Back in his master bed room, Bruce blew into Gordon's ear. The Commissioner sat up straight, grabbing for his gun on the nightstand instantly.
Bruce kissed him and Jim swallowed the 'bastard' that threatened to come over his lips, smiling into the soft touch.
"You're going to Malibu?" The older man sighed.
"Yes." Bruce answered, pulling his jeans on. "I trust you can take care of Gotham for a day or two?" He winked, not knowing where this obsession came from, to find out if there was truth behind Stark's revelation or not. Bruce never left Gotham so easily, nor Gordon.
"I'm sorry." He suddenly added.
"No, it's ok." Jim reassured the younger man, "I'll manage without Batman for a day or two." Jim wondered where that strange edge in his voice came from, even though he tried to conceal it.
Bruce didn't notice it though. He was distracted by his thoughts, determined to find out if he had a new enemy or an ally in Iron Man.
"I'll be back soon." He kissed Jim briefly and was out of the door within seconds.
+++++
"Jarvis, tell me that plane belongs to who I think it belongs." Tony was about to start flying across the country - some small errand had hindered the Iron Man from starting out earlier than he had actually planned - when someone attempted to land on a field some miles away from his private estate.
"Yes, Sir, it is indeed Mister Wayne's private jet." Tony wondered very briefly, how Jarvis knew what he was thinking, but dismissed the thought fast. He'd designed and programmed his - at the moment - best friend, after all, himself.
"Okay, now that is going to be very entertaining." Iron Man flew a big circle, observing the landing of the small plane from a safe distance.
What was Mister Wayne planning?
Why the secrecy?
Why didn't he just get an appointment from Pepper?
Tony frowned inside his helmet, yet even more, when a totally black clad figure stepped out of the plain and started into the direction of his villa in a slight jog.
Since Tony hadn't been able, so far, to invent soundless flying for his suit, he decided to rush home from another direction and then see from the inside of his house what the mysterious person was up to. His speed gave him exact thirty minutes in advance, including taking off the intact suit. If the stranger wanted to 'visit' him at all.
For some reason, his heart started to beat even faster.
He surely was in for the game.

Date: 2010-05-15 05:45 pm (UTC)I'm such an OTP whore, I really have a problem with the threesome thing. Let's see where you take it :)

Date: 2010-05-15 05:56 pm (UTC)The logistical problem,,,hehe lol well, I've read such a perfect male threesome story in HP fandom, I'll manage ;) IF I'll come that far. I will go back and mark it as WIP. I forgot about that.
But thanks for reading and commenting! Feeling very honored :D

Date: 2010-05-16 06:02 pm (UTC)You're rushing things a bit... I mean, they're all flying back and forth and breaking in and leaving and following and then wanting a meeting right now. Maybe you should... pause and take a deep breath? ^-^'''' Let them deal with the situation for a bit :)

Date: 2010-05-16 08:03 pm (UTC)You've just recognised my huge mistake. I always rush things because I want to come to the point, because I think I loose my muse and then everything is too late. *scratching head*
Anyway, I am writing Ch 3 and I think that might be an interesting turn of events even though they are still running around. lol

Date: 2010-05-16 08:14 pm (UTC)Also, in my experience, the muse comes while writing. Let the characters show you what they want to do. (Just, for that, you have to let them ^-^' Don't run off with the plot and drag them along, let them pull you. Let them stop and think - and thereby tell you - why they're doing what they're doing.)
I also never said that you're a bad writer... You write a lot, that's really all you can do ;)

Date: 2010-05-16 08:27 pm (UTC)With Tony/Bruce and Jim it's different. Probably because I WANT them to be together just don't really know how I get there and make it believable!
When I started out writing a long time ago, I wrote down key points on paper. Sometimes the end came first to me. But I stopped doing that and let the story flow now because I always had trouble to "sew" all the pieces together and the stories suddenly wanted to go into completely different directions then I had written down on my pieces of paper. I never had posted a WIP before. One probably really shouldn't do that. But I thought it would help to get the muse going.
I WILL give them a break now and go to bed. Maybe I'll dream about them ;) Thanks again for your very helpful words! :D

Date: 2010-05-16 08:34 pm (UTC)I had that problem with the bloody wedding. I just couldn't see how they would ever do something like that XD Exchanging rings was difficult enough (and my attempt to avoid the wedding LOL) Then people kept asking, and I began to see it as a challenge. I wanted to prove that it could be done...
Then I pretty much pressed "play" on the movie in my head and let the characters run rampant. At some point, their words started to get them in the right direction, that's where I latched on.
I'm pretty sure that not pausing and letting them tell you how they want to get there won't work.
I mean, getting the three of them together is about feelings. The plot is the construction that should help them along :)
My comments are to be taken with a grain of salt, by the way :X I tend to be very, very character driven ;)

Date: 2010-05-17 01:37 pm (UTC)A plot is always my B I G problem. Writing sex is easy, but spinning a plot that makes sense and isn't boring, is SO HARD! And when real life gets in the way, just when I got an idea makes me go crazzzyyyyy.
But I won't rush them. Maybe I have to take a break and write a Pepper/Tony story first ;) or yet another one for Holmes and Watson, since I'll hopefully get my DVD this week :D Thanks sososo much for discussing this with me :D
Any other ideas? I could go on and on when it comes to talk about writing. But if this is bothering you we could stop as well.
Only one question. Could Tony's arc reactor burn a rope, if he takes the outer "Hülle" away?
no subject
Date: 2010-05-17 05:47 pm (UTC)I also used to have problems with the plot, until I let the characters tell me the story. *shrugs* Don't know how else to put it ^-^'
The only thing I can tell you is to let the characters talk about their thoughts, let them have a lot of dialogues, let them play. You won't lose the plot, as long as the characters keep going.
Well, the reactor probably could theoretically do that, but I don't know what it would do to the reactor itself. I don't think it would continue to work, when you open it and make it, well, short-circuit.
